SCATTO IN AVANTI (Photo Session), Performance Art Evening, Pandora Gallery, Berlin, Germany, 4/5/2023

The performance, wants to have a symbolic value. Reversing the most classic situation, that is 'naked model - dressed photographer', Werther Germondari, even if with his usual ironic and desecrating attitude, wants to try to give back to women some of the dignity that has always been denied by men throughout history. It is in fact the male figure that has always stripped, literally and psychologically, the woman, making her a simple puppet and object of his desire, to the detriment of the respect that must be shown not only as a woman, but first and foremost as a 'person'. Therefore, during the performance, Werther Germondari will take pictures as in a normal photographic session, in the Pandora Gallery, in Berlin, of all the women (and everyone who identifies even partially as a woman) present who wish to do so. But in this case, the women photographed must be fully dressed, while the photographer, Werther Germondari, will be completely naked.

Germondari wants to clarify a few points, to better define the performance that he is going to realize: "Paradoxically, someone could see this action of mine, carried out on such a serious and important day, in turn as a violent act towards women. In the sense that that of the naked photographer could be compared to the gesture of a sexual maniac who shows himself naked to a woman in a public park. Well, those who know my artistic research know very well that my approach totally excludes this intent on my part. First of all, no woman will be obliged to be photographed or to participate in the performance, and who ever will accept it will have to read this action of mine simply as an awkward but also (I hope) amusing attempt of reparation, once in a while, with respect to the custom of history. I would also like to say that the action I will do should not be seen as one of the parties that some clubs organize on the occasion of March 8th. I'm not a stripper, I'm now well past my prime, with a belly, and I'm also not very well endowed from a 'genital' point of view. The latter is in fact the only part of my body equal to that of Michelangelo's David. Those who will be photographed or those who will attend the performance should not hold back from laughing or smiling seeing my naked body, it is normal that this happens, and there is nothing wrong with that. But at the same time I hope to make people think about the fact that in the end a naked body has precisely nothing wrong with it. It seems unbelievable to say this, but a naked body today is still a 'scandal', while it is only the body of a human being, and nothing more. I therefore ask you, finally, to accept this action of mine for what it is, that is, one of those strange projects of mine that, passing from idea to reality, become small pieces for a reflection that also makes the brain 'smile', and to try to make in this specific case a small 'step forward' in the fight for equality between men and women”
