EROTISM - BETWEEN UTOPIA AND DYSTOPIA

This exhibition aims to offer a small journey through the intricate realms of human desire, where the boundaries between utopia and dystopia blur and sensuality is intertwined with uncertainty. Works that explore the dichotomy of eroticism: a force that is both beautiful and disturbing. From idealized landscapes of utopian pleasure to the shadows of dystopian control, this exhibition seeks to delve into the complexity of our most primal instincts. A delicate balance between liberation and constraint, pleasure and danger. Provocative themes, to challenge social norms and reflect on the profound impact of eroticism on the human psyche. Whether you are drawn to the euphoric visions of utopia or the haunting echoes of dystopia, this exhibition invites you to engage in a dialogue that transcends borders and delves into the essence of human desire.
Questa mostra vuole offrire un piccolo viaggio attraverso gli intricati regni del desiderio umano, dove i confini tra utopia e distopia si confondono e la sensualità si intreccia con l’incertezza. Opere che esplorano la dicotomia dell'erotismo: una forza allo stesso tempo bella e inquietante. Dai paesaggi idealizzati del piacere utopico alle ombre del controllo distopico, questa mostra vuole approfondire la complessità dei nostri istinti più primordiali. Un delicato equilibrio tra liberazione e costrizione, piacere e pericolo. Temi provocatori, per sfidare le norme sociali e riflettere sul profondo impatto dell'erotismo sulla psiche umana. Che tu sia attratto dalle visioni euforiche dell'utopia o dagli echi inquietanti della distopia, questa mostra invita ad impegnarsi in un dialogo che trascende i confini e approfondisce l'essenza del desiderio umano.
Katarzyna Bak (Włoszczowa, Poland, 1974) studied at the Faculty of Art Education in Czestochowa, Poland, specialising in lithography. After graduating, she moved to Italy, where she works as an artist and art designer. Since 1996, she has exhibited her works in various solo and group exhibitions in Poland, Belgium, England, Ukraine, Germany and Italy. The question of identity, accompanied by constant reflection on the relationship between our soul, our body and the world around us, appears central in several cycles of works created in recent years.
Gwenaël Chevalier (????, France, 1990) Actor, producer and film director.
Werther Germondari (Rimini, Italy, 1963) Visual artist, performer and filmmaker. Interested in innovative experimental dynamics that are neo-conceptual and situational, characterized by a taste for the ironic and surreal, Germondari has experimented for 40 years through many different expressive media (painting, installations, photography, film, videos, live performance). Germondari's works have also been shown in solo exhibitions where he focuses on hidden elements highlighted in styles. In 2013 he founded the Ospizio Giovani Artisti.
Micheal Knoten (Fratiskovy Lazne, Czech Republic, 1984) works as a laborer in metal production. He has devoted himself to artistic creation since childhood. "In the course of my life, inspired by my surroundings, I began a sincerely misanthropic artistic path, exploring the dark sides of the human soul." For more than ten years, he has devoted himself to digital photography and graphic design, following the principles of pictorialism. He has had many solo exhibitions, and has many audiovisual collaborations for extreme metal bands to his credit.
Silvia Marcantoni Taddei (Genova, Italy, 1994). A multimedia artist, she founded the duo AnimaeNoctis with Massimo Sannelli in 2019. The show must go on. And so must the shovel. Let it be a tool to work, to dance, to pose, to dig deeper. To explore the relationship with one's own body. "For the two models present here, the shovel is a tool for support and action. It is an unconventional posing companion. It is a mirror of the ongoing process of balancing non-binary identity and non-conforming bodies, new strength and grace' (S.M.Taddei).
Benna G. Maris (??????, ??????, ????) Interdisciplinary artist alien being exhibiting on planet Earth with the purpose to raise awareness among terrestrials about human, social, metaphysical and environmental issues, expressing through a whole range of art disciplines, either material or immaterial, favouring the use of poor materials and minimalism. Motto: “Either eclecticism or boredom”. The work in the exhibition is a depiction of the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, with a proper roof to cap the evidently unfinished design.
Mohammad Reza Jahan Panah (??????, Iran, 1975). Cinematographer, Director and Producer, is known for the movies ‘Radiograph of a Family’ (2020), ‘Scenes from a Divorce’ (2015) and ‘Sayehay-e Roshan’ (2013).
Maria Laura Spagnoli (Amelia, 1960). She graduated in History of Music at the Sapienza University in Rome, in Institutions of Directing at DAMS in Bologna, and in Technologies for the Restoration and Conservation of Cultural Heritage at the Sapienza University in Rome. In the 1980s he began his life and work collaboration with Germondari. Their first short film was selected in competition at Cannes in 1994. To date they have made three feature films together, on the theme of sexuality, as part of the 'Tractatus logico-phileroticus' project, created by Germondari in 1998.

Katarzyna Bak (Włoszczowa, Polonia, 1974) ha studiato presso la Facoltà di Educazione Artistica di Czestochowa in Polonia, specializzandosi in litografia. Dopo la laurea si è trasferita in Italia, dove lavora come artista e art designer. Dal 1996 ha esposto le sue opere in varie mostre personali e collettive in Polonia, Belgio, Inghilterra, Ucraina, Germania e Italia. La questione identitaria, accompagnata da una costante riflessione sul rapporto tra la nostra anima, il nostro corpo e il mondo che ci circonda, appare centrale in diversi cicli di opere realizzate negli ultimi anni.
Gwenaël Chevalier (????, Francia, 1990). Attore, produttore e regista.
Werther Germondari (Rimini, 1963) Artista visivo, performer e filmmaker. Attento a dinamiche innovative sperimentali neo-concettuali che si caratterizzano per un gusto ironico e surreale, svolge dai primi anni ottanta una ricerca attraverso numerosi media espressivi. Ha partecipato a esposizioni in gallerie private e spazi sperimentali internazionali, alternando installazioni d’ambiente, videowork e atti performativi, focalizzando l’attenzione su elementi nascosti, attinenti a una visione reale, sociale e politica. Nel 2013 ha ideato l’Ospizio Giovani Artisti.
Micheal Knoten (Fratiskovy Lazne, Repubblica Ceca, 1984) lavora come operaio nella produzione del metallo. Si dedica alla creazione artistica dall’infanzia. “Nel corso della mia vita, ispirato dall’ambiente circostante, ho iniziato un percorso artistico sinceramente misantropico, che esplora i lati oscuri dell’anima umana”. Da oltre dieci anni si dedica alla fotografia digitale e alla grafica, seguendo i principi del pittorialismo. Ha realizzato molte mostre personali, e ha al suo attivo molte collaborazioni audiovisive per band di metal estremo.
Silvia Marcantoni Taddei (Genova, 1994). Artista multimediale, ha fondato nel 2019 il duo AnimaeNoctis con Massimo Sannelli. Lo spettacolo deve continuare. E così la pala. Che sia uno strumento per lavorare, danzare, posare, scavare più a fondo. Per esplorare il rapporto con il proprio corpo. “Per le due modelle qui presenti, la pala è uno strumento di sostegno e di azione. È un compagno di posa non convenzionale. È uno specchio del processo in corso per bilanciare l'identità non binaria e i corpi non conformi, la nuova forza e la grazia” (S.M.Taddei).
Benna G. Maris (??????, ??????, ????) Artista interdisciplinare alieno che espone sul pianeta Terra con lo scopo di sensibilizzare i terrestri sulle questioni umane, sociali, metafisiche e ambientali, esprimendosi attraverso tutta una serie di discipline artistiche, materiali o immateriali, privilegiando l'uso di materiali poveri e il minimalismo. Motto: “O eclettismo o noia”. L'opera in mostra è una rappresentazione della Banca dei Regolamenti Internazionali di Basilea, con un tetto adeguato per coprire il design evidentemente incompiuto.
Mohammad Reza Jahan Panah (??????, Iran, 1975). Direttore della fotografia, regista e produttore, è noto per i film "Radiograph of a Family" (2020), "Scenes from a Divorce" (2015) e "Sayehay-e Roshan" (2013).
Maria Laura Spagnoli (Amelia, 1960). Laureata in Storia della Musica alla Sapienza di Roma, al DAMS di Bologna in Istituzioni di Regia, ed in Tecnologie per il Restauro e la Conservazione dei Beni Culturali, alla Sapienza di Roma. Negli anni ottanta inizia la sua collaborazione di vita e lavoro con Werther Germondari. Il loro primo cortometraggio è selezionato in concorso a Cannes nel 1994. Ad oggi hanno realizzato insieme tre film di lungometraggio, sul tema della sessualità, nell’ambito del progetto del ‘Tractatus logico-phileroticus’, creato da Werther Germondari nel 1998.
